In the complete network which would be implemented on the Bastiaans square, each element would have its own parametrically defined benches. In the prototype we created we show two different shapes of benches. One where it affords you to sit on it and the other, although you can sit on it, affords you to lie against/on it. Both the benches will have capacitive sensors on them so that they pick up anyone who wants to sit/stand/lie on it, this in turn will send a wave movement from the end it is activated from to its opposite end. An extra layer of wood, together with some soft material, was added to make it easier for the user to distinguish the seating areas.
